Trinity Forest and AT&T Trails

Another super Texas trail!

April, 2025 by dpate

I rode the Trinity Forest and AT&T trail on a weekday in early April 2025. It was a very windy day but there is a lot of cover and shade. There were some flooded low points but very passable. I saw only 4 hikers in the 19 miles I rode. I highly recommend checking this trail out. This is a super trail that deserves 5 stars!

Waxahachie Creek Hike & Bike Trail

Super trail!

April, 2025 by dpate

I road the Waxahachie Creek trail in early April 2025 on a beautiful sunny day. This is a short but great trail. It is smooth cement the entire way mostly winding through woods. I am not sure that it's quite six miles. A very enjoyable trail that I rate FIVE stars!

Flag Pole Hill Trail

It's a direct trail between 2 good routes. There are street crossings, and there can be mud in wet weather. It's very good for normal commuting, but I would not bring kids who aren't comfortable with traffic.

Village Creek Trail

Ride approx 23 miles if you want! ¿

February, 2025 by gbmarlin

This 5 mile section of trail runs along a busy road, and is in the sun, BUT I’m so glad it’s there because Village Creek blends into River Legacy Park trail system, giving you approx 25 miles round trip! It’s a wide concrete trail about 5 ft from the road in most areas. (I feel safe riding here.) That being said, this trail system will be even longer once they open the new section of trail! The plan is to connect trails between Fort Worth and Dallas. I understand that new system will be called Discovery Trail which will be over 100 miles!

Northaven Trail

Make sure you have water with you. Very pretty and clean, plenty of places to sit. No places to easily access water/drinks/snacks, no shady trees yet. I like the trail, but once you get away from the east end, you're on your own.

River Legacy Trail

great ride

Much if the trail to the right of entrance closed off. Didn’t get a chance to ride the lake route. Otherwise nice ride.

Central Trail (TX)

Great, Low-traffic trail

April, 2024 by pv9hft8nyz

This trail is great if you’re looking for a safe, urban trail. All of the streets that intersect the trails have clear cross walks/lights which made me feel more comfortable with my dog. My dog is quite reactive so I’m always looking for trails that have fewer people on them but feels safe and this was exactly that!

Trinity Strand Trail

Much better than expected

The trail was very well kept and there wasn’t any issues on the run! A heads up there’s currently construction at the Trailhead but other than that it was a great run with no issues!

Northaven Trail

Trail is nice but not my favorite. Too many intersections causing a lot of stop and go. Felt more like I was riding in the city streets. Once you get up to good speed it's time to slow down and stop at another intersection.

Campion Trail

Wide cycle and running path

September, 2023 by benjigator

There are a lot of people on the trail, and many people are walking their dogs. The path is really great.

If you are a clipped-in cyclist, the path can be dangerous because young children play on the path. Because of the winding and trees, it's hard to see people standing to talk or children lying down on it.

Generally, the parents who take their children to the path or picnic don't pay attention to cyclists or runners. Very young children are on the path with no adult supervision, or they step in front of bikes to be funny.

The leashed dogs generally lunge at runners and cyclists.

If the path is quiet, it's a great place. The public roads around this are dangerous for cyclists. Texas is generally a very dangerous place to cycle on public roads. I'm not sure how to change this.

Be safe!

White Rock Creek Trail

Very pretty

The trail is dated but it is very pretty and there is lots of shade. This trail connects to the lake loop if you are desiring more.

White Rock Lake Park Loop Trail

A Dallas Must

August, 2023 by kimbostian

This is such a fun ride. You can see the skyline and pass the arboretum as you ride. The lake front provides a slight breeze and it has a wonderful community feel.
